New York Knicks @ Philadelphia 76ers Preview

This will be the first of two preseason meetings between the Knicks and Sixers and then the division rivals play each other four time during the regular season. Eddy Curry is supposed to be available tonight but will not start. The Knicks will be opposed by a Philly team with a revamped front court since the acquisition of Elton Brand from the Clippers. Brand is career 20 point 10 rebound per game player and has always fared well against the Knicks.

Brand brings a solid half-court game to the Atlantic and will match up well against the Knicks' big men if the pace slows down. But the Sixers like to run as well, so there is a good chance a track meet could break out between the two teams this season. Philadelphia picked up right where it left off last season on Wednesday as it won the first game of its preseason opener. Louis Williams, coming off a breakout season where he averaged 11.5 points and 3.2 assists, scored a game-high 27 points to lead the Sixers to a 98-92 come-from-behind victory over Boston.
Look for the Knicks to continue to improve and look more comfortable in D'Antoni's new system. Eyes will be on Duhon as he'll aim to impress after his horrible debut.
Experimenting with several different lineups, New York put up 88 shots, making 39, and dished out 29 assists. But as expected, there was also a learning curve as the Knicks were off from three-point range, shooting just 8-for-34 from beyond the arc, and turned the ball over 20 times.
Catch the game live from the Wachovia Center on MSG II, tonight @ 7pm EST
