Getting back to Winning Ways Quickly; Important to Knicks

Fighting away old demons has been the biggest accomplishment thus far in the young season. This fight needs to continue and a more rapid pace as the Knicks have slightly been reminded of the losing days. Since opening night against the Miami Heat the Knicks have had a good feeling about themselves but with two straight loses the second being against the hated Celtics, has once again allowed a little adversity to creep into the locker room. The New York Knicks are currently 6-5 and tied for 6th place in the Eastern Conference. It is imperative that this team keeps it's head above water for a good amount of time.

I mentioned in my Pre-season forecast that the Knicks had a good mix of home games and winnable road games for them to compile a very nice looking record by the end of November. So far they have not disappointed us but it seems as if they need a new wave to ride. The excitement from scoring 120 points on opening night has run out of gas. Friday night in Milwaukee against the 5-8 Bucks is the Knicks chance to get back on a winning track. This is a very winnable game for New York despite the fact that Milwaukee handed the Knicks what might be their worst loss of the season at the Garden. That night the Knicks never found any offense and were held to under 90 points while Jamal Crawford scored only 1.

A leader in the locker room needs to identify himself as soon as possible and keep the Knicks on the right track back to relevance in the East. Coach D'Antoni has done a really good job instilling confidence into each man on his roster, now it is time for them to remove the training wheels and learn how to be consistent. Winning back to back games Friday and Saturday this week, would be a great way to put the two tough losses against Dallas at home and Boston this past Tuesday behind them.
