Not sure if most fans even know who the three new Knicks suiting up tonight are...Just kidding, it's New York, we know everything. The Garden tonight will be...well...the old Garden itself and for the first time in about 5 years. Yes LeBron James will be in the house and he's heard the buzz from Cleveland.
"It's two years away, but time goes fast," said the King. "We'll see what happens."I'm eager to see how the new Knicks gel together. Al Harrington, being the marquee player the Knicks received in the deal says he is pumped up to play in New York,
"I can't wait," he said. "Indiana's Indiana. But this is big time."D'Antoni said that Harrington will play serious minutes tonight at both the Center and Power Forward positions.
“Al Harrington has played in Golden State for the past two years, which is how we want to play. And Tim Thomas I had in Phoenix so I don’t think it will be a hard transition.” “Tim enjoyed a lot of success in our system a few years ago in Phoenix when he was a key part of a run to the Western Conference Finals,” said D’Antoni.Al Harrington has wanted to be a Knick since last April and tonight he his dream comes true.
“I have to be honest with you, from April 18 when I first told (Golden State Warriors General Manager Chris) Mullen that I wanted to be traded, this was the place I wanted to come,” said Harrington. “This is a dream come true. I wasn’t really focusing on any other team. This is the place I wanted to be.”
While the trio may not have had a chance to get settled since landing in their new home, all three are not unfamiliar with New York and the surrounding area.Mobley learned the game of basketball in Philadelphia, and Harrington and Thomas were standout high school players in New Jersey.
