How Can Hill Help?

IMO, more ways than one. It's no secret he may be the Ken Griffey Jr. of basketball meaning injuries seriously cut his career short of a lot of accolades. Unlike Griffey, Hill will probably be kept out of the Hall of Fame due to these injuries but he was unquestionably headed there in the 90's.

Now as for the relationship between he and the Knicks; I see it as a good one. Key in on Wilson Chandler. There is no question Wilson Chandler, who I think is a rising star, could learn from Grant Hill day in and day out. Knicks brass has confirmed that Hill would start as a Knick (he wouldn't think of signing if we didn't) and Wilson would shift to the two guard position.

Last season Grant Hill was durable and reliable for the Suns playing in all 82 games, scoring 12 and grabbing 5 per. He also shot 52% from the field. Hill has played for D'Antoni before and loved the system. Contract-wise the deal makes sense, a one year deal will not effect the Knicks in terms of the big summer of 2010 with the free agent frenzy.

“…According to the Arizona Republic, the Knicks have thrown some serious cash Grant Hill’s way.New York offered Hill the option of a one-year, $5 million contract or a three-year, $10 million deal, according to an NBA source. Hill, 36, might not expect the same offer from the Suns, but the swingman said last week that he wanted to be “fairly compensated” after concluding a two-year, $3.8 million contract for the Suns. Phoenix was prepared to use a portion of its mid-level exception, set Tuesday at $5,854,000 as a whole, to re-sign Hill, who is its free-agency priority….”
I'm all infavor of signing Grant Hill, in fact i've been discussing different scenraios with friends for the past week. We are all in agreement that the addition of Hill would be harmless, definitely a win win. Low risk high reward if you will, so I say do it! Wonder what number he'll wear if he signs.....
