No Line Up Change As Knicks Invade Charlotte

Coverage Starts @ 7PM Tip-Off @ 7:10

After being embarrassed by the Heat in Miami, the Knicks try to erase that memory for game 2 of the regular season. They take on the Charlotte Bobcats who were also routed in their season opener by the Celtics. Despite mutterings of a line up shake up it doesn't look like coach will pull the trigger yet as all signs point to the same five that started in Miami. Look for the Knicks to make a better defensive effort and build off the confidence they grew during the preseason. Bobcats coached by Larry Brown barely missed the playoffs last year and they have a young and talented team. If the Knicks play the right way, this could be an interesting match up tonight.

Fans in attendance for Friday's home opener for the Charlotte Bobcats will receive a shirt with one of Larry Brown's favorite slogans - "Play the right way."
The Bobcats, though, set another kind of franchise mark in Wednesday's opener at Boston. They were held to their lowest point total in a 92-59 loss, shooting 31.1 percent and missing all 10 3-point attempts.

New York may not have been quite as bad as Charlotte in its opener, but wasn't much better. The Knicks fell 115-93 at Miami on Wednesday, trailing by as many as 31 points.

The Knicks allowed an Eastern Conference-worst 107.8 points per game in coach Mike D'Antoni's first season in 2008-09. There wasn't any improvement Wednesday as Miami shot 56.7 percent.

"We couldn't make shots and couldn't stop them," D'Antoni said. "That's not a good combo."

Danilo Gallinari and David Lee each scored 22, with Gallinari making 7 of 13 shots from beyond the arc. The rest of the Knicks made 3 of 26 3-pointers.

I like it......I hope that the confidence that JJ showed in the preseason carries over to the regular season. He looked effective on defense mainly.

Eddy Curry Update**

Supposedly, according to sources, the slimming down 'fat-man' will resume practicing this week. Doubtful for the Friday game @ Boston, maybe we will see him Sunday, barring another I.D.T.F (injury due to fatness).

More later....

3:27 PM- Ok scratch all that, not only was he just dissed by the Team President and GM but now the word is he likely won't even be ready for the start of the season. Walsh said, "every time he comes on the floor he pulls a muscle."

Knicks Quick Fix: After Preseason game 1

Knicks looked pretty good in the preseason opener vs the Nets. We got the usual from David Lee (near a double double-20/9) Toney Douglas looked really aggressive on defense as well as taking the ball to the basket. Now I read a lot of articles complaining about Gallinari's shooting and they all seem idiotic to me. The guy might have the best IQ on the team and he is already being criticized for being a great passer. The shots will come no doubt, I just thought the focus should have been much more revolved around the impressive poise and ball handling skills he showed rather than the amount of shots he took.

Al Harrington who said he fell victim to a lot of 4th quarter fatigue last season, came to camp in great shape this year and it showed. He looked slimmer, played stronger, and was tough down the stretch.

Knicks had a double digit lead in the 3rd quarter and when it shrunk down to a 2 point lead, D'Antoni called a timeout and the team immediately responded. I liked seeing this because that is what good teams do. The NBA is a game of runs and they are bound to happen, but being able to weather the storm and doing to quickly is what separates the good teams from the bad and the great teams from the good. I truly believe that the Knicks this year can be a good team. I feel they finally have the right mix of leadership and seasoned talent for them to crack the top 8 in the Easter Conference. This is not a guarantee by any means, but right now, with this roster, i think they can do it.

Darko Milicic looked pathetic, I have no words for him.

Wilson (my main man) scored over 20 and seemed to be free and easy, showing no ill effects from off season ankle surgery. He still lacks moves off the dribble which is something he will definitely need to take his game to the next level. However his jumper looked more fluid and he seemed to have a comfortable confidence in his range as well as his pull up. He shot 7-13 overall and hit a couple 3's.

I'm sure you want me to talk about Jared Jefferies. I will say yes the box score is accurate, he did hit 3 three pointers and that is all I will say. He has a long way to go before I say anything remotely positive about him on this blog.

We play the Celtics this Friday in Boston, I'll be curious to see if there are any lineup changes or if maybe we get to see Eddy Curry. I'd like to see a lineup be settled by the 3rd or 4th preseason game.

Lebron: Is He Coming?
