I've said it 'till Ive been blue in the face; there are no easy games for the Knicks, this weekend is no exception. One might have thought, the wizards would be dead in the water after trading away basically all of their talent but since the trade there 3-2, posting an impressive home win against Denver. The Knicks head into Washington tomorrow night to play the Wiz show and then come home for a back to back against a Memphis team that is playoff bound. After that the Knicks will then travel to Cleveland. When will the losing streak end, you can't tell we'll all be better of if we just count down the 100-something days left until July 1st.
I'm more curious to see how McGrady plays and if he will play in both games than I am of dissecting what the Knicks may need to do to win these games. Let's face it, the 8 game losing streak and the revamping of the roster has really tanked the season and ended any pipe dreams of making the playoffs. In mid January, the top 8 teams really started to separate themselves from what was a 7-11 seed logjam.
Recently, it was reported that McGrady 'came back down to earth' with his expectations, implying that he once thought he would return to an all star level this season with the Knicks. These are the types of unfair things that media does to water down situation and put a player in a negative and pessimistic light. McGrady took this Knicks 'job' with a thankful heart and a positive yet realistic outlook on what could come. He said all the right things regarding Lee and his possible Knick future and to me, it was a breath of fresh air in what was seemingly a disaster site in the Knicks locker room.
I like Tmac, and I remember him very well when he was healthy. It's clear what a dominant perimeter player does for an offense, we saw it on the very first possession of the game vs OKC. The Knicks future has a lot of potential but at the same time it is extremely unclear. It will be a tough remainder of the season for the fans and the players; the schedule is not friendly and the Knicks just don't have a lot of talent. Hey fans, if we've made it through the Marbury era, a few more weeks should be cake.
